Empathy Might Be On the Brink of Extinction

As there usually is with these posts, I have a song. This time, I have two. We'll talk about the first one first. John Reuben. "Do Not". It's great. It's clean rap. Anyway, listen to it. At one point near the end, you hear a cool little part that says:
"Lack of Understanding, Lack of Communication, Lack of a desire for Expanding Education, Lack of Inspiration, Lack of Innovation, The Fact that you can't respect another mans Creation, Lack of Motivation, Lack of Restoration, The Fact we lack Unity and enjoy Separation, Lack of Destination, 'cause you know what I feel, I feel that humans lack the ability to be real."
He's talking about shallow people at that point in the song. Or all people. The more I think about it, the more it applies to almost everybody. Especially at this point in the timeline. Nobody wants to take the time to see anything for more than what it is. If that makes sense. I'm not going to give an example for every single one, 'cause there are lots of 'em.
Moving on to the other thought for a second, twenty one pilots. Actually no I lied, just Tyler Joseph. A long time ago, he wrote the song Kitchen Sink, which is actually what my friend James' blog is named after. Hit me up for the link. Anyway, at a point in that song he goes:
"Nobody thinks what you think, no one. Empathy might be on the brink of extinction. They will play a game and say they know what you're going through and I tried to come up with an artistic way to say they don't know you, and neither do I"
See the point I'm trying to piece together yet? Let me clarify.
A lot of the worlds problem is that nobody has empathy. Not sympathy, empathy. If you don't know the difference, look it up. Screw it, I'll tell you. Basically, sympathy is like being there for somebody when they're sad. Empathy is understanding why they're sad. Being there with them instead of for them. Walking a mile in their shoes instead of seeing the condition of their shoes.
Empathy could help so much. People on either side of the BLM vs ALM issue. Democrats and Republicans. Human Trafficking. Global nuclear tension/war. World Hunger. The Climate Crisis. You name it. Imagine if everybody had more than just their own interests at heart.
If you're reading this and think you have this part of your life under control.... I'm here to tell you that you're probably wrong.
Last little thing to address here quick: decency. It costs zero dollars to be a decent human being, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, political party, geographical location, education level, salary, etc. No matter what you are in terms of those categories, you can be a decent human being. I see a lot of you not following that logic, so lets see improvement okay? Okay. Thanks for coming to my TedTalk
This has been kind of a shorter one. Oh well. Such is life.
