Frickin' Technology, Am I Right?

Okay, so the title doesn't have all that much to do with the actual post, or the cover photo, it’s just a starting line to express my passionate distaste and frequent struggles with malfunctioning devices. It's 2020. It's taken this long just to connect to the internet? Come on. It's legit one of your only jobs.

Okay, so onwards and upwards to actual content.

This is actually gonna be about the concept of "Blame". It's kind of tricky though, because I was blaming technology for my scheduling/writing downfalls, so I'm guilty too I guess...

Anyway, people all over the world, for as long as anybody can remember, have been blaming others. Definitively, to blame is to assign responsibility for an action. Most of the time, it's for actions that were wrong. You can lay the blame on somebody for losing the game for the team, or blame them for getting your recess (or break time, depending on age) cut short. You can blame somebody for tearing a family apart. You can blame somebody for almost anything. Usually you don't blame somebody for positive things, like getting a raise or whatever... just to clarify...

There are those who blame others, and there are those that attempt to shift the blame assigned them by others.

For instance: You borrow your parents car, because yours is in the shop for whatever reason. The following week, they blame you for leaving their cars gas tank almost completely empty upon having returned it. You whip out a crazy lie about your brother actually having been the one to use it last, and that it wasn't nearly that low when you were done with it. You've shifted the blame, rightfully or wrongfully so.

This happens across the board, and in every aspect of life. In your schooling, in the workplace, in politics, in sports, in your social life, etc.

"It's not my fault I failed that test.... The teacher made me fail. They hate me."

"It's not my fault I didn't get that promotion.... My boss just doesn't want to see my succeed."

"It's not my fault I missed that field goal.... The wind was insane."

"It's not my fault that he thinks I'm crazy.... He's just not smart enough to understand me."

It is your fault. Take responsibility. You didn't study for it, and watched Rick and Morty instead.

It is your fault. Maybe take your job a little more seriously. Put some real work in and try again.

It is your fault. It's your job to calculate that kinda stuff. You're a pro football player in the NFL...

No, you're actually just insane, and your crazy mind makes you do illogical things that hurt your chances of having a normal, functioning relationship.

And wars? All of them start with somebody blaming somebody else for legit anything. For instance, World War Two? The Germans, disguised as Polish dudes, took over a radio station, said bad things about Germany, and then left, leaving some of their own dead men, in uniform, at the scene. And then they had reason to attack Poland. Isn't that insane? Shifting the blame.

Basically, the moral of the story is to take responsibility for your own actions. If you wanted to get something else out of it too, don't take the blame for others if it's their fault. It's rough, and it sucks for them, but if they did the crime, they serve the time.

That's all I've got for tonight... I'll be back in for another one shortly.

This time I have things I want to write about, so strap in, we've got some ground to cover.
