Life Moves Pretty Fast

So, at this point, we've come to realize that my spastic posting isn't going to sort its self out any time soon, so you should probably just subscribe so you'll know when I DO post.
I know what you're thinking: "Oh, another post about how great the past is, and he's gonna fill it with references to movies that we love so we can relate and actually break down and subscribe..."
And that would be, mostly, false. Well, partially. It's really just not about the past, so take that however you will.
So, in a recent conversation I had about life, my shift at work, and a few other things, the phrase from Ferris Buellers' Day Off came up
Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.
That really hit me at that specific moment in time. Not in one of those classic-blog-post ways, but more of a, wow, I should be living more in the moment. I don't know how many of you have seen Ferris Bueller's Day Off, and I don't want you to tell me if you have or haven't. I would prefer we stay friends.
Anyway, that being said, I kinda wish, all the time, that I had the nerve to do half of the things he did in a single day. Not all of them were super realistic, and you probably couldn't get away with a lot of them in this day and age, but I wish I was more willing to take risks for my happiness..
Ferris couldn't have cared less what his Principal Ed Rooney thought of him. They weren't afraid to risk it all, take a day, and just drive around Chicago, eating at fancy restaurants and visiting museums.
Again, this IS just a movie. I'm aware. But that's also why it's such a famous movie. Same with the Breakfast Club. People could relate. It was what the people wanted to see, because they were situations that those very same people had been in, and dealt with differently, or in a more boring way. These movies gave us that feeling that we could do whatever we want. That we didn't/don't have to go about doing something the same way everybody else always does.
Sure, you could go to school when you're really not feelin' it. You could just sit in the same chair for hours on end in detention. There's nothing wrong with that. There's nothing wrong with occasionally taking a personal day either though. Get out of the rut. Get some fresh air. You don't have to "borrow" your dad's Ferrari to have fun though. I'm not condoning theft, or anything of the sort.
Let's go with a more realistic, but slightly more boring, example. My life.
For the most part, I'm not a server. I don't jot peoples orders down on pads of paper and run it back, and take care of people through their entire meal. I give people their food, I'm occasionally a coffee barista, and I'm occasionally an Ice Cream scooper of sorts. Instead of doing that today, I agreed to work in the Convention Center for a huge Easter Brunch thing the Casino was hosting. On top of that, I was a server for the first time in forever. It could've been a lot worse.
Again, that's not a fantastic example, because both options are pretty similar, but I got out of my comfort zone. I did something different.
Small steps.
I challenge you, even though I have no way of checking if you did it, to get out of your comfort zone. Do something different and unexpected. Make me, and Ferris Bueller, and John Bender, proud of you. Actually eat at the CAFE instead of your DORM ROOM. Try Mr. Blaisdells newest ice cream flavor. Don't show up to work one day. Call it a day and go sightseeing instead. Whatever it takes to make progress. Big or small.
In other news, I've got some merch available, but I need to know how many people are interested before I go through with any of this. Some of you may have seen my Advertiser marching around in a hoodie this weekend and may also be interested. Hit me up for details, opinions, and input.
So yeah, that's all I've got really... I hope that you all enjoyed. If you didn't, that's your own fault. Sorry.
I'll see you all later.
Peace my dudes.

I’ve never been more proud of anything I’ve done than walking around GLAA in that hoodie. Thanks Dom for letting me do that.
