My Lips are Chapped and Faded

The title of this post doesn't really have a whole lot to do with the content, besides the fact that it's a song lyric, and this post is going to be about songs.

I'm also going to say this in advance: Music makes up a large portion of my life. I care more about some songs than I do about some people. A lot of people. Whatever.

Basically I'm going through my playlist and throwing down some A:) Recommendations B:) Important Lessons C:) Things You Didn't Know About My Music Taste

There's a couple different categories in my library. Not genres. Categories. I will be covering them over the next few posts.

Bear with me. This isn't all of them, just the ones that I am head over heels with enough to recommend.

Also, I'm aware that this is gonna seem emo. It's not. I'm not. It's just really good music.

1:) The Meaningful

Cancer-My Chemical Romance

I discovered this song not that long ago, but it's already one of my favorites. It's a sad song, but it's definitely worth the listen.

Neon Gravestones-twenty one pilots

This song just dives headfirst into the problems this modern society has with suicide and dealing with it. My boi Tyler just goes all out. More of a spoken word kind of song, but again... worth it.

Brother-Gerard Way

This song is legit. Listen to it.

Don't You Worry Child-Swedish House Mafia

I know that these dudes weren't talking to me when they wrote this, but every time I listen to this, I feel this on like, a spiritual level. So yeah.

Dear Maria, Count Me In-All Time Low

This song reminds me a lot of my older brother, because he was always listening to this and a lot of other music like this. It's an older song, so it puts me back in time a little bit to when he was still in the house, with us rooming together and all. Miss you Brochacho.

Highway 20 Ride-Zac Brown Band

I guess this just reminds me of the time before my parents divorce, or around that time. It's a slow song. It's a country song. It's the only country song I will willingly listen to. So that should say something.

What the Hell-Avril Lavigne

You ever wanted to be a rebel? Or do something rebellious in general? I have. And every time that thought crosses my mind I just end up listening to this song instead, which isn't that bad of an option.

Trees-twenty one pilots

This song goes beyond my ability to explain. It's just meaningful. That's as close as I'm going to get to explaining it. Because in case I didn't mention that part already... I can't.

Those are just a few of the songs in that specific category. None of them are explicit, so any of you can listen to any of them.

I actually challenge you to listen to a few of them. Or all of them. Your choice. But don't just skip the challenge and then feel entitled to keep reading these Music Library Session Posts on my blog.

If you listen to a few, or all, or even just one, you will get to know me that much better.

Who I am is made up of the music I listen to.

So listen and you'll know.

That's all I've got.

Stay tuned for more tunes
