Hey, we're doing a two for one tonight apparently, so you no longer have to be deprived of blog material. This first part is your a-typical blogger, Dominic Romeo, and the next will be a guest blogger, having chosen to go Anon on this one. Say hello to your guest blogger for the night, Sparksamary.
Hello, I have the privilege of being the guest blogger for today. I would personally like to thank you all for stopping by this blog and spending your time reading what I, and others, have to say. So sit back, relax, and read away.
I have noticed that the guest bloggers on here have a sort of “popularity” when it comes to this blog. I heard something about a whole bunch of theses? I don’t know, but that’s not the point. I'm here to express my views and interests in a way that you, the audience, can see what I am trying to get across or show my point of view. Personally I do not care what any of you think of my point of view. I am not posting this for your reaction. If I was going to do that, I would get up in front of the chapel and tell the school about the unfair advantages that certain students get from their parents.... But, today, that’s not what we will be talking about. I, a new or former student, am here to give you all the run-down on how these first days of school has been.
As the summer has dwindled down to the end, the students at Great Lakes Academy are adjusting to school routines with some… changes. First off, I’ve been told that most of the relationships from last year went down in flames (surprise surprise). Shout out to AN and SS for staying together throughout the summer and I think…. SC and EA but don’t quote me on that, anything is possible with the seniors and their “cliques” . But anyways, the new students are here trying to figure out what they are doing and which touring group they want to join and the freshmen are still looking as young as ever. Also they are looking up to the seniors, remember that guys...
First cuts are out for Aero’s and second cuts are up close or have already happened, depending on what time Dominic decides to post this. Congrats for all those people that made it, and sorry about your poor luck AeroWanna’s. But music on the other hand is doing very well and is apparently more popular than it has been in years prior. There are a lot of students trying out for chambers and many students are in or have decided to join music this year, it’s becoming obvious that we have a very musically talented school this year. Mr. and Mrs. Sandvik have a baby that should be on its way soon, so congrats to them as well. RIP Mr. B…..
Ahh, but into the stuff that you students like to call the “tea”. The staff have decided that Facebook, Instagram, and the works, should be shut off at 5:30pm. Because yes, after a day of classes, work, and socializing, all I would want to do in the world would be to go over to the gym with you loud and boisterous hooligans while you fight over some toy ball. Personally I would like to take time for myself after a long day and sit in the dorm and chat with my friends back home, my family, or just look at memes. Personally I think that I should have some time to be alone doing what I find to be relaxing or using it as an outlet to recharge social batteries. But alas after having YouTube taken last year, they’ve decided to try to take out some more things.
But from another viewpoint, looking at the staff side. We do complain a lot about how we are busy all the time, and they have changed special study hall so that we may still hang out with our friends, which is greatly appreciated. I know that some of the staff would like to try out new activities during rec, and are overall more involved. So it makes sense to change some aspects, so that if staff do make more activities they would be more successful due to the fact that we cannot spend time on social media.
The Pastors are super into stuff this year, lots of enthusiasm and involvement, which is a good thing for the most part. As long as they don’t get too excited with the students and have a repeat of you know who….we should all be fine. If you are reading this GLA staff, this is a joke, I meant not to offend any staff or member of employment at Great Lakes Academy.
Also for all of you who get the reference of the cover photo, props to you! It’s a good movie that isn’t afraid to express itself in a way that is unconventional. I personally think it was way ahead of its time.
But due to the fact that I would not like to write anymore, nor stir up any conflicts anymore than this blog has in the past, I wish you all a farewell. Remember to set your alarms tonight so you don’t miss that Carter class in the morning. You should be seeing more of me, unless this gets too much attention. I hope to speak to you all again.
Signing off, Sparksamary.
