You Are Tired. You are Hurt.

So, I don't really know if this post is aimed at you guys, or if it's about me and I'm just saying that it's for you guys... Whatever. Works either way.
AS always, the title IS in fact a song lyric, and it IS, in fact, from a twenty one pilots song. It IS a pretty old one though, and I'm NOT going to be discussing that anyway. How's THAT for almost pointless information AND overuse of capitalized letters.
In the song, there's a section that says:
He's seen too many stare downs between the sun and the moon in the morning air. How he used to hustle all the people walking through the fairgrounds. He's been around so long he's changed his meaning of a chair now, because a chair now is like a tiny island in the sea of all the people who glide across the very surface that made his bones feeble. The end can't come soon enough but is it too soon? Either way he can't deny he is a pantaloon.
I'll bet THAT'S not the word you thought it would end with huh? Get used to it. "Pantaloon" ain't goin' anywhere as long as I'm around. And THAT'S a FACT.
I really gotta quit it with the Caps Lock thing...
The selected passage above is in regards to an older male. To make it less KJV for you, I'll put it this way.
He's old. He's got a lot of fun memories, but life is starting to wear him down over time, to the point where, after a life of going and doing, a life of avoiding downtime (sitting down, relaxing, etc.), that's the very place he wants to be. It's a small place of rest, no longer going or doing, but observing. Watching others rush around. He gets to watch them experience the same experiences he went through. He's tired, and needs to rest. Should he give in to the ultimate nap? Or is it not his time to pass?
I have no explanation for the last part. I'm not the writer, and I don't know what that word is supposed to mean in this context, or any context really.
Anyway, this life is wearing him away into nothing. The title comes from:
You are tired, you are hurt. A moth ate through your favorite shirt. And all your friends fertilize the ground you walk, so lose your mind!
Which, if I may interpret for you, is just emphasizing the fact that life sucks. It's not going to get all that much better by the end of it. It's enough to drive you insane, and it would if we didn't have so many distractions in the modern world.
He's tired, hurt, and nothing is going his way. Everything from the smallest, a moth eating away at his clothes, to the biggest, his life-long friends eventually passing away around him.
Sorry if this has been super depressing so far lol
Here's my point.
With this much negative around us in life, we tend to think that there isn't nearly enough positive. Whether or not we find the positive that's already there, we need to create our own at times. We need to create it for others as well.
I think I've covered this topic before.. Or something very similar at least... But hey, we need to hear it a lot more often than we do.
We need to start acting on this.
It could be anything weighing on somebody.
A new relationship.
A failed relationship.
A new job.
A recently-non-existent job.
A changed major.
Picking a major.
A major in general. #college
A test they didn't study for.
A death.
A new life.
Choosing a religion.
Choosing to come out.
Choosing to break up.
Choosing to make that first move.
The point is, there's so much out there stressing people out. And if I may use this Caps Lock one last time....
GO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.
